Thieme fathoms what subjective testimony can mean in the context of collective, traumatic upheavals. "Can’t You See Them / P.O.V" focus on archival material from the Library Hamdija Kresevljakovic Video Arhiv, a collection of private videos documenting the military siege of Sarajevo (1992-1996) from the perspective of the entrapped citizens. Thieme juxtaposes these testimonies with different data-analytic and imaging material that objectifies them by means of technical and juridical procedures. Thieme's work raises questions of what function these objectifying processes form. Do they change the individual experiences that lie at their bottom? And how does this affect our ability to put us in relation?
